The Ambassador in the Library with the scrolls

Deep in the Library by the magical blue lights she studied the ancient scrolls. It was her own fascination that drove her. Most of her contemporaries tended to frequent some of the bars and restaurants rather than spend time in the Library. Here she had found stories of the underwater Kingdoms, of the rise of the amphibious peoples. Then, eventually humans had taken their place on Akkadia. What struck her the most however were the stories. The names changed and the places changed and the species changed, but the stories were the same. ‘How could that be?’ she mused. For every civilisation, or for every organised nation, or group, or band a dictator would arise. They had arisen at some time or another within all the underwater kingdoms. They would arise within the amphibious kingdoms. They had arisen throughout Akkadia through all ages. The story would be the same. Someone would challenge the dictatorship. A hero would arise and throw the dictator down. She recognised some of the names in her documents. They were spelt differently in many of her documents, but if spoken in the mind the telepathic formulation of the names were the same. The names were unknown to her. One name, Kanaola, seemed to appear regularly. Another translated as ‘Bright and Morning Star’. She was intrigued. Her studies continued.
